Our Purpose

The Masked Intelligence (TMI) aims to spread knowledge and information with regards to Forensic Accounting to the general audience. We will be sharing these knowledge through various platforms, such as articles, case studies, real world news, and even through interview sessions / podcast with professionals within the industry.

Why Forensic Accounting?

Advancements in technology have led to a great change in the way we live and work. Do away with thick dictionaries and encyclopedias - we’re in an era where everything is quick and light. We can readily Google anything, and be more educated on all kinds of information - so educated that more criminals and scammers have found ways to get around the system, leading to a rise in the number of crimes such as embezzlement of corporate funds, misreporting of profits, and the list goes on.

Thankfully, there are forensic accountants to investigate allegations of suspicious financial activities, through a combination of auditing skills and investigative skills. Here at TMI, we’d like to think of forensic accountants as the paper detectives primarily examining financial data to recover the missing money. Businesses use the forensic findings as credible evidence in court trials, and even to recover losses from scams.

Increasingly, fraudulent activities around the world are being committed (and reported). We may see this trend in the next decade, especially with new work arrangements and organisational restructuring due to the pandemic.

We hope to increase awareness, in digestible sizes - for everyone to see fraud from the lens of a forensic accountant, and perhaps make an impact by reporting/investigating signs of fraud.

Meet the team.
